Here is a opening thought:
If
Human impact on the earth is a function of population and affluence mediated by the effects of technology what is the best way to reduce human impact?
We could all reduce our affluence voluntarily.
We could all reduce our number of offspring volutarily.
Or we could hope that some as yet undiscovered technology will violate the laws of physics and grant us a limitless world.
What do you choose?
My bet is that most people choose option number 3. Prove me wrong or give a good reason.
